About Us

My name is Robert Wallace Thumper Hughes Higley Pruitt, but I typically go by just Thumper.  My wife (Colleen) and I have set this site up to provide information, reflections and useful links and products that are related to the family.  We have been doing foster care for the past five years and have found that we really love this type of work.  Of course, my wife has over 30 years experience with early childhood education, but this is now evolving into more.   We have been working primarily with pre-teens and teenagers for the past five years, and we are coming to enjoy the experiences that this has afforded us.   On this website, we will be posting more information about ourselves, and the experiences we have heard.  We would love to hear back from all of you, and collectively I believe that we can help and enrich each other. Our kids are our future, and as parents, mentors, friends, we should strive to help our kids to lasso the future and to reach for their dreams.  By so doing, we will, in essence, achieve the immortality that we so often seek. That, and helping to improve our world for the better.  So, sit back and enjoy the show, as this should be an interesting experience.
